To celebrate Pioneer day James planned a camping trip to Escalante, we had a great time, we usually try to go camping a few times a year, but this was our first time, because life has been super busy! So here was the itinerary-
DAY 1
We left early in the morning around four and met up with his fam at the campground, then headed to lower calf creek falls and hiked to the most beautiful waterfall. We stopped and let the kids play in the sand and water. It was so much fun and the kids did great! Then we had a picnic and headed to some slot canyons. We hiked peek-a-boo gulch and spooky gulch, which are so fun! Then we headed back to camp late that night and crashed!
DAY 2-
We went fishing to Lower Bown's resevoir, and after we drove back to camp and played games. James set up a rain gutter regata, that the kids loved, they all designed their boats and raced them for hours!
This was Ethan's first time catching a fish, he did not want to touch it-
DAY 3-
We hiked up to the most beautiful lake called Blind Lake, we fished and sat on the shore and enjoyed the beautiful scenery! Then we packed up and drove over to goblin valley, stopping at a yummy pizza joint on the way. Then we hit a rain storm storm that got all our stuff wet, so we played at goblin valley then drove home instead of staying the night.
We found an abandoned raft up at blind lake and these boys decided to strip down, then they dove in and took a swim!
I attempted a garden this year for the first time, only about half of it actually lived, but we are getting a lot of zucchini and tomatoes, so if anyone wants any let me know!

The boys love finally having a back yard, we hang out back there most nights!
I've been meaning to put a picture on of our back yard- we have almost got it finished, except for the fence which will not happen until next year...

looks awesome! We wanted to go to Escalante this summer but seeing as Rog still has some major harware in his foot, hiking was not an option this summer! Maybe next! Glad you guys had an awesome time!
It looks like you had so much fun. We love camping, but we haven't gone once this year. What a bummer. We really need to get together soon.
